ULTIMATE WILD CAT EXPERIENCE
ARE YOU AFTER AN EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER? WALK ON OUR SAVANNA WITH OUR WILD CATS!
Home to the largest cheetah habitat in Australia, our African savanna creates a wild like environment for the cats that call our centre home and allows them to experience a full range of natural behaviours.
Every day our cats are provided the opportunity to extend their lives beyond the boundaries of their habitats and investigate the ever-changing sounds, smells and sights of our savanna. This allows our cats to have choice over their day, make their own decisions and ensure no two days are the same. We aim to have as little routine in their days as possible, so each cat heads out to the savanna at a different time daily, and it is for this reason that we can never guarantee which cat you will join when you visit.
You’ll start your personalised tour by meeting one of our team at the entry before walking on foot out to our savanna to observe which ever cat is out there at the time. Watch as our cats show off their natural behaviours only metres away from you, walking, running, or investigating the savanna, showcasing what makes these animals so special. A once in a lifetime experience being only metres away, with no fences between you and our cats!
Our tours are designed to educate visitors on our conservation initiatives and for you to witness our cats in as close to their natural environment as possible, as well as getting a true understanding of these amazing animals with no fence between you and them. One of our staff will capture photos whilst you are on the savanna (see example photos on this page), with these photos emailed to you a few days following your visit. this will allow you to fully immerse yourself in your visit and the moment, as well as respectfully sharing the space with our cats.
Following your savanna experience you will finish with a guided tour of our centre. You will visit our small cat habitats, including our clouded leopard, caracal and serval, learn about the work we are doing to conserve wild cats both here in Sydney and overseas, raising awareness of the plight and vulnerability of the smaller wild cat species.
